Gymea Bay Cricket club is one of the foundation clubs of the Sutherland Shire Junior and Senior Cricket Associations

The Club has won 4 Junior Club Championships 1983-1984, 1990-1991, 2006-2007,2008-2009

The Club has won the Senior's A1 competition 7 times 1976/77, 1993/94, 1994/95, 1995/96, 1996/97, 1997/98, 1998/99

Kingsgrove Sports 5% rebate to Gymea Bay Cricket Club 16/7

Gymea Bay Cricket Club will now receive a 5% rebate for all purchase made by our members, friend and families. However for this to be recorded you MUST tell the sales assistant when you pay for your items.
It is not only for cricket equipment, any item purchased is eligible. Clothing, soccer, shoes, netball, baseball etc.
Every purchase will be recorded and the club will receive the rebate at the end of the year with a list of who has purchased goods from the shop.

Please support this fund raising for the club.

In2Cricket Begins end of October at Gymea Bay Oval.

Registrations are on the First Night

 

The In2Cricket Program is an introductory cricket program for entry level participants. Boys and Girls between 5-8 years of age.

The program is conducted over 10 weeks on a Friday Night once Daylight Saving time starts at Gymea Bay Oval beginning at 6pm. The program stops over the christmas school holiday break.

The aim of the program is to introduce participants to cricket skills and activities with an emphasis on fun and to instill the Spirit of Cricket from the very first experience.

The "Spirit of Cricket" is fostered by the values that a coach, parent, player or official bring to the team, club, and the game itself.

Some key elements to apply the spirit of the game have been included as a guide to foster a healthy and effective development of the spirit within this program. This resource also covers a range of fundamental motor skills important to game development such as hitting, catching, throwing, running, stopping, balance and co-ordination for varying individual skill and age levels. Important social skills including teamwork, co-operation, communication, and fair play are also desired outcomes of the program.

The program seeks to provide each participant with the opportunity to develop:

1. Cricket skills which enables participation in a variety of games and activities within the program;
2. Physical fitness;
3. Knowledge and understanding of the strategies within the ‘game’ of cricket;
4. Social skills which promote acceptable standards of behaviour and positive relationships with others;
5. Attitude and values that will encourage participation in, and enjoyment of, sport in general and the game of cricket in particular, both as a participant and spectator.

The program also offers the opportunity for parents to become involved as volunteers.
